"Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon" is the first book of a new collection of books called "Modern Wings" and is a bilingual publication from a team of aviation journalists and photographers (me included :bandhead2: ) from Italy known as Skywing Press. It's published by IBN Editore, an imprint that has previously published excellent books on subjects such as the F-104 Starfighter, Macchi 202 and several others. It is an A4 format, softcover publication of 96 pages contaning 178 colour photos and 20 B/W photos. The publication looks at all aspect of the Eurofighter program from gestation to the present day, including the prototypes. Each section is illustrated with photos from all the main users, covering also the Italian types from Operation Jupiter in 2006 and Exercise Spring Flag in 2007. Seven colur profiles by Richard Caruana and a two page cutaway are also included. Modellers will find a detailed walkaround section in addition to the discussion on camouflage and markings with ever useful colour callouts for all the main users. The final section will be of most use to modellers, with an examination of all the major kits available of the type (Revell, Italeri and Airfix in 1/72 and Revell and Italeri in 1/48) and some nice build articles including a 17SQN two-seats in 1/72 and a 4 Stormo single seater in 1/48, both from the newer Revell toolings. Tips for improving accuracy, detailing and selecting appropriate paints are all provided.
